Sony Xperia 10 VI Officially with Newer Chip and Larger RAM

Sony Xperia 10 VI--

Sony has officially launched its latest mid-range Xperia phone, the Sony Xperia 10 VI (pronounced Sony Xperia 10 Mark VI), in Europe on Wednesday (16/5/2024). This phone is the successor to the Sony Xperia 10 V, which was announced in May 2023.

As an upgrade, the Sony Xperia 10 VI comes with several enhancements. For example, it is powered by a newer chipset, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

For comparison, last year's Sony Xperia 10 V was powered by the Snapdragon 695 chipset, coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

In addition to the chipset, the Sony Xperia 10 VI runs on the latest Android 14 operating system. The phone is promised to receive Android updates for up to 3 generations and security updates for 4 years.

This is an improvement from before, where the Sony Xperia 10 V was released with Android 13 and was said to receive Android OS updates for only 2 generations and security updates for 3 years.

In other aspects, the Sony Xperia 10 VI offers similar specifications. The phone still features a "tall" display with a 21:9 aspect ratio.

The display uses a 6.1-inch OLED panel with Full HD Plus resolution, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The screen is equipped with an 8 MP selfie camera, claimed to be clearer than its predecessor.

For the rear camera, Sony no longer equips this phone with an 8 MP telephoto camera (2x optical zoom) that was previously present in the Sony Xperia V.

So, the Xperia 10 Mark VI is only equipped with two rear cameras. First, there is a 48 MP main camera (OIS, Exmor RS sensor) that offers 2x in-sensor zoom.
