Huawei marks 10 years of innovation in wearables with the new HUAWEI WATCH GT4 in Barcelona

Huawei is celebrating a decade of innovation in everyday wearable devices, guiding them towards a “smart” future with its “Fashion Forward” vision, elevating the fusion of cutting-edge technology and high fashion.

At an event held in Barcelona titled “Wearable Strategy and New Product Launch,” Huawei introduced a range of new devices, including the HUAWEI WATCH GT4, the latest addition to the popular GT smartwatch series, the FreeBuds Pro 3 Hi-Res TWS earphones, and the ultra-luxurious WATCH Ultimate Gold Edition with an 18-karat gold crown. This Barcelona event marks a significant milestone in Huawei’s journey, as it is the same city where the brand launched its first smartwatch, the HUAWEI TalkBand B1, ten years ago.

“Fashion Forward” represents Huawei’s desire to promote the fusion of design, technology, and style, made possible through a decade of innovation.

A Decade Later, with an Open Horizon: Design, Health, and Sports Taking a Step Forward

Over the past decade, Huawei has introduced numerous products with innovative technology, unique aesthetics, exceptional build quality, and top-notch features. Huawei’s design philosophy focuses on evolving its design language and quality, combining timeless elements with innovative features in everyday smartwear.

From the introduction of the round HUAWEI WATCH in 2015, Huawei has laid the foundation for the fusion of style and functionality. Regarding materials, Huawei continually seeks improvement to provide consumers with high-quality, durable, and comfortable experiences. Starting with stainless steel and nano-crystalline ceramics, Huawei has now advanced to zirconium alloy with the HUAWEI WATCH 4 series. Customization options have also expanded over the years, with a wide range of straps and watch faces released.

Regarding health management, Huawei fosters a holistic approach to wellness for its users. From its journey into wearables a decade ago, Huawei has been a pioneer in sports health monitoring. It has excelled in addressing industry challenges, especially in battery life, measurement accuracy, and comfort. These advancements have enhanced the consumer experience and set new benchmarks in the industry.

Continuous improvements in device accuracy provide users with precise measurements of heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and more. In terms of innovation, the HUAWEI Health app leads with over 800 patent applications. Huawei reinforces its commitment to research and development through ten global research institutions and three sports health laboratories, with plans to inaugurate an additional European laboratory during the year for further smart wearables developments.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT 4 series, HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate Gold Edition, and HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 3 make their debut at the “Fashion Forward” event.

Huawei’s strategic focus begins with the launch of the elegant HUAWEI WATCH GT 4 series, the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate Gold Edition, and the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 3, a range of smart devices that redefine aesthetics in wearables.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT4 is the latest generation in the WATCH GT series, introducing upgraded design features with powerful health and fitness functions. It takes a bold “Fashion Forward” step from the classic designs of the GT series, introducing new design elements while retaining the contemporary geometric aesthetic of its predecessors.

The HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate Gold Edition incorporates technological advancement and design innovation from Huawei’s wearables. Exceptionally crafted and artistically designed with 18K gold on the nano-crystalline ceramic bezel, the smartwatch is filled with cutting-edge features and is built for adventurous users seeking to carve their paths to perfection. It boasts revolutionary water resistance up to 100 meters of depth, Expedition mode, and a two-week battery life.

Finally, the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 3 brings a balanced aesthetic design with top-notch audio technology, enhancing the experience for demanding users. They feature a sleek glass case, manufactured with Nano Processed design based on glass, along with dual Ultra-hearing drivers for clearer highs and booming bass, as well as an enhanced Triple Adaptive EQ for authentic sound quality.

The launch of these three devices embodies Huawei’s “Fashion Forward” vision, pushing the brand into pioneering innovation and bringing unique technological companions to everyday life to empower consumers in every step.

Mo Farah and Pamela Reif Bring Global Prestige to the New Products

Pamela Reif, the internationally recognized fashion and fitness icon, and Olympic gold medalist, World, and European champion Sir Mo Farah, both appeared at the event as brand ambassadors for Huawei’s wearables products.

Both of them use Huawei’s wearables in their daily lives, including the HUAWEI WATCH GT4 series and the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate, to enhance their training effectiveness, better understand their health status, and feel stylish at all times.

Pamela Reif stated: “It’s amazing that Huawei and I started our fitness journeys at the same time. Over the ten years I’ve been passionate about fitness, technology has played an incredibly important role in helping people live a healthier lifestyle. Huawei is at the forefront of this innovation, but they’re doing it in such a nice way. What I love most about Huawei’s wearable strategy is that their devices don’t look like smartwatches! They are genuinely beautiful fashion accessories while providing sports benefits.”

Mo Farah commented: “I’ve been proud to use Huawei’s wearables for many years to monitor my activity and measurements accurately. The insights my coaching team and I could gain from the watches proved invaluable as I competed at the highest level. Now that I’ve hung up my athletic shoes – professionally, at least – I look forward to enjoying life a little more, getting out, and about in the city. That’s where Huawei’s watches really shine. They look as great as they are!”
