Worcester To Remember Fallen Heroes

Paul A. Brotherton, Jeremiah M. Lucey, Joseph T. McGuirk, and Lts. Timothy P. Jackson Sr., Thomas E. Spencer and James F. “Jay” Lyons III died on December 3, 1999 at the Worcester Cold Storage facility. A decade later plans are being finalized on the memorial that will bring in thousands of firefighters from around the country.

A memorial mass will be held at the fire station now sitting where the fire took place. When we learn of the time it will be posted. Also, on the same day, the awards ceremony for the state will be held in Worcester, the first time that has happened in 9 years.

Vice President Joe Biden is expected to attend.
