UPDATE: There are six injuries from this fire.
FDNY firefighters are on the scene of a fire in the basement of a private dwelling at 60 St. Marks Avenue. Box 1242 was transmitted as a fire when first due units arrived to find smoke pushing from the private dwelling.
As first due engines stretched lines and secured a water supply ladders made the primary search. Several occupants were removed to the street where FDNY EMS began evaluating them. An All Hands was transmitted bring an additional engine and truck.
