Daily Quote

  • "What are the benefits of your breaking that window? Many! You calm yourself down, the enclosure gets lighter and cooler, the poisons rise a little off the floor, the intensity lessens, and the people you are looking for have a little more time for you to find them."

Comments

Jay;

1st. As I've written previously, according to Marc Beringer, the Phase II report is supposed to be of the same "Depth" and "Quality" of the previous LODD investigations of Kyle Wilson, Prince William Co., Va. and Rachael Wilson, Baltimore, Md..

Sounds like it is.

2nd. Chief's Retirement. Chief Harry Carter has a comment on todays Firehouse.com regarding this. I support his comments.

3rd. Interm Chief; Chief Ghi. He has the education/experience and fire service
contacts to assist him.

4th. Command Staff. It's up to all of them to seriously self identify if they can remain on the job with the changes that WILL OCCUR.

It's not gong to be just "marking time' for the next two years till retirement.

A new "Outside" Fire Chief will bring in his Command Staff and in the process, the "Rubber Will Meet The Road" at a faster pace.

It's up to them to decide if they can keep up and be pro-active in the changes.

I'm certain the new Chief will not tolerate any "Slackers" or those who will tend to be a "Drag" on FD Operations.

5th Getting Help. YES! This is not an easy time. The next few weeks and months will bring up the SSS fire contineously:

A. Today's Phase II Report Release
B. The anniversary date of the SSS Fire.
C. The Memoral Services, in September in Colorado Springs, Co. and October in Emmittsburg, Md.

Get the counseling if you feel you need it. Don't let Machismo/Machisma ruin your life.

5th. Jay, if you gave up this site, a lot of Firefighters would be disappointed.

Working for change one FD at a Time!
